There's still time to attend the Spring Forward workshops at Ellarslie on Saturday, March 24.
Preregistration was important to help us make sure that there was going to be attendance for the presentation by guests who were volunteering their Saturday morning to share information that would help area artists.
By knowing that there is a core group, we can open it up, so attend, but thank those who were willing to commit to make the workshops to be available.
The following provides a lineup of the presentations. Feel free to stay for all or what suits your need.
Please note that Robert Girandola’s session on using social networking has been postponed to the summer.
Sessions are slated to begin at 10 a.m., are approximately thirty minutes each, and roughly scheduled as follows:
10:00 – “State Arts Grant Opportunities” presented by Don Ehman, the coordinator of artist services for the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
10: 30 – “Press Release Writing for Artists” with Anne Levin, writer for Town Topics, Princeton Magazine, freelance entertainment magazine writer, and former reporter/reviewer for The Times of Trenton.
11: 00 – “Business Practices for Artists” led by prominent regional artist Tom Kelly.
11: 30 – “Grant Writing Basics for Artists” by Dan Aubrey, former director of development for The New Jersey State Museum and grants review panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts, New Jersey and Pennsylvania State Council on the Arts, and the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation.
12: 00 – “Planning Arts Projects by Artists,” including Aubrey Kauffman, coordinator of the “Trenton Makes” Photography Exhibit and Book and the Trenton Artists Workshop Association’s international art exchange with the Soviet Union. He will be joined by Dan Aubrey, co-coordinator of the Eyes on Trenton Festival, catalyst for the creation of the Passage Theatre, associate manager for the New Jersey Urban Park Design Competition, and more.
12:30 – Announcement of Summer Show in Trenton and New York City and plans for the future of the Trenton Artists Workshop Association.
Thank you for your interest; we’ll see you on Saturday.
It does help us if you drop us a note to say you're coming. Send it to tawaexhibits@aol.com
